We (www.clojug.org) had our Java EE 7 launch event last week. It was great! Attendees did love the new features and were excited about implementing them in their new projects at work. We run the event at Universidad Icesi, great auditorium and computers room. We had a general session where the new features were introduced by the Cali JUG leaders (Guido, David and myself), then we had a nice refreshment sponsored by Oracle. After the break, we went to the Hands On Lab (HOL) where we followed Arun Gupta's HOL (find it here), which we translated into Spanish; we are making some changes to the translation and will make it available as soon as we finish. During the HOL we had some problems to run the sample application, but it was nice to see how the community worked together in order to solve the issues and we had a successful HOL.
We want to thank to all our sponsors, Universidad Icesi for such great locations and for streaming live the event. Oracle for the food and drinks and www.PluralSight.com for the free monthly passes to access their virtual courses for developers.
You can find more pictures of the event here:
And here you can download the presentation (in Spanish), works better with Google Chrome:
A replay (part of it...) of the general session may be found next (in Spanish):
Stay tuned for our events and if you live in Cali-Colombia, come to our meetings and become a member of our great community! http://www.clojug.org/
